Description: The old crocodile hunter (Dick Randolf) who collected this piece referred to it affectionately as Venus de Gama. It has been carved from the steering wheel of a wrecked ship and was collected in the Gama River in the 1960’s. To my knowledge, it is the only Gama River figure extant. It has been painted with trade store paint and has a good patina.
